The refreshed 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 includes a new XRT variant, upgrades for improved style, ergonomics and convenience, more safety features, and increased battery capacities. Here is what some of these changes look like.
2025 IONIQ 5 will come with the Tesla North American Charging Standard (NACS) port which includes access to 17,000+ chargers in the Tesla Supercharger network. To make charging anywhere easier, it also comes with a Combined Charging System (CCS) adapter.
The XRT model is the IONIQ 5’s dedicated off-road trim and comes equipped with exclusive features like digital camouflage cladding, exclusive exterior color options, and more.
Hyundai added physical buttons for frequently used functions and changed the wireless charging pad location for better usability in the 2025 IONIQ 5. The next-generation infotainment system comes integrated with Apple CarPlay / Android Auto, Over-The-Air software updates, and several new features to Hyundai Digital Key 2 Premium.
Expect to see add-ons like Hands-On Detection steering wheel, Lane Following Assist 2, Remote Smart Parking Assist 2, and Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist in the 2025 IONIQ 5. The body and doors of the vehicle have been reinforced to improve side collision protection and feature 8 airbags (including second-row side airbags).
Fast Charging Speed: The IONIQ 5 is built on an 800V battery platform, which enables extremely fast charging speeds. It can charge from 10%-80% in only 18 minutes, which is the quickest of any EV SUV.
Eco-friendly Interior: The interior of the IONIQ 5 is tech-heavy, beautifully designed and a comfortable space. The lack of a driveshaft creates ample foot room for all passengers. It’s amongst the best interiors in its class, and just happens to use recycled PET bottles for the seat fabric.
N Grin Boost. The IONIQ 5 N is Hyundai’s racetrack capable version of the IONIQ 5, with 601hp normal driving power. The N Grin Boost, boosts the power to 641hp and enables launch control for an insanely quick 11.1 sec ¼ mile time.

2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 models manufactured at the brand-new Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America facility in Georgia are expected to be eligible for a $3,750 U.S. EV tax credit. Leases will continue to qualify for up to $7,500 credit according to Hyundai’s press release.
