San Jose resident Gay was ready to upgrade her beloved Subaru Outback. After her sons recommended Cartelligent, she gave us a call to help make the process easy.

Q. What made you realize it was time for a new car?

A: Subaru Outbacks last forever, but the truth of that concept is limited.  My 2002 Subaru had 215,000 miles, was burning a little oil, had steering issues, and an undiagnosed squeak from an encounter with a big pothole.  My car looked fabulous, but was aging quickly.  I chose to act on replacing this car to enjoy both the safety and convenience options of a new car.

Q. How did you decide on the Subaru Outback?

A: I went online to explore what was available, including models and prices. I also watched cars around me and talked to friends. I made decisions about what was important to me, such as a white exterior and light interior, a smaller engine, and the availability of options.  What I did not consider were items that I might not want that were not normally featured online, such as darkened windows.

Q. Why did you decide to use Cartelligent?

A: Both my sons knew about Cartelligent.  One took me to the dealer to look at Subaru models and to drive the one I liked best.  Then I contacted Cartelligent with my important information.  I did not want to face both the pressure and lack of a clear bargaining position with the dealership. Plus, what I wanted was not available at any local dealerships.

Q. What did you like best about working with Cartelligent?

A: I really appreciated the prompt response I got from Cartelligent.  I sent an email on Sunday and had a phone call on Monday, and had a call back on Monday afternoon.  I was under a 5-day deadline to get 0% financing, and had the car identified, credit confirmed, and financing arranged in 4 days.  While the car I accepted had more options than I had asked for, the final price including the Cartelligent fee. was about what I expected to pay for a lesser package.  Cartelligent handled the dealership.

Q. What surprised you about the Cartelligent car buying experience?

A: I was very pleased with how simple the process was, in addition to meeting a tight deadline. They found several models to present to me, and I was able to consider each of them.  Not many models that met my requests were available. I could have said no to any models they offered without pressure to reconsider.  I liked that position.

Q. What would you tell a friend about us?

A: Go out and do your research, and then let Cartelligent do your search for you!  They handle the search, present choices, negotiate with dealerships, arrange financing, receive the car, and handle the paperwork, including state registration.  In addition, they can assess and buy your older car and handle the paperwork to transfer the title.
