1) Lane Change Assist: New for 2025, the X5 features a lane-change assist system that works in tandem with the optional Highway Assist hands-free driving feature. This system allows the driver to approve a lane change suggested by the X5 by merely glancing at the corresponding rear-view mirror. Upon detecting the driver’s confirmation, the system executes the lane change.
2) Plug-in-Hybrid System: The xDrive50e model’s PHEV powertrain is a new standard in performance and fuel economy. It has a 25.7-kWh battery that gets the X5 up to 38 miles of electric-only range. Together, this produces an impressive 58 mpg combined.
3) New iDrive 8.5 infotainment system: 12.3-inch gauge display and 14.9-inch infotainment display. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and in-dash navigation are all standard while onboard Wi-Fi and a wireless smartphone charging pad are optional extras.
4) Heads Up Display: The X5 can be optioned with BMW’s industry-leading heads up display that shows speed, speed limit navigation and other information. The clarity has improved over the years and is a highly recommended option to look out for.
